Mike Salmon is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and Enrolled Agent of the Internal Revenue service who has been with the firm since 2007. Mike is a board member of the Central Florida chapter of Financial Planning Association and an active member of NAIOP Central Florida. His planning advice has been featured often in the Orlando Sentinel’s “Ask an Expert” column, Investopedia, CNBC.com, and NAIOP. A co-owner of Moisand Fitzgerald Tamayo, Mike was recently recognized by Financial Advisor magazine as a 2018 “10 Young Advisors to Watch”.
Mike earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Counseling and Planning from Purdue University. He and his wife, Tiffany, have been married for 8 years and have four young children.
Daniel B. Moisand, CFP®
Dan Moisand is a fee-only financial advisor in our Melbourne, Florida office and regarded by many as one of America’s top financial advisors for retirees and near retirees. A happily married father of two, he is a past national President of the Financial Planning Association, and has been featured as one of America’s top financial planners by at least 10 financial planning publications.
Retirees and those approaching retirement will have a hard time finding an advisory firm better equipped to serve them and their families than Moisand Fitzgerald Tamayo, and Dan is one reason why. A glimpse of his expertise can be found in his writings. For the general public, he has been a regular contributor of Q&A columns for Florida Today since 2005 and MarketWatch, a personal finance site of the Wall Street Journal, since 2013. The press and the financial planning profession rely on him for answers as well. Since 2010, he has been a monthly contributor of a column about advising retirees for Financial Advisor. Dan has over 29 years of experience but recognition began in 2002 when he was dubbed a “Future Star” by Financial Advisor magazine and made Worth magazine’s list of the top 250 Advisors in America. Since then, he was named one of the most influential professionals in financial planning in Financial Planning magazine, Investment Advisor (twice) andAccounting Today (twice). He has been lauded as one of America’s top financial planners in Florida Today, Journal of Financial Planning, Research, Solutions, Wealth Manager, and the Wall Street Journal Online.
Moisand is the subject of a two-page profile in The History of Financial Planning (Wiley & Sons, 2009) and at just 44 years of age, he was mentioned as a notable in the Lifetime Achievement category of Financial Planning’s 2011 Influencer Awards. In 2012, Space Coast Business named him one of Brevard County’s “Most Admired Business People”
More recently, for its 15th anniversary issue in June of 2013, Investment News named Dan one of the 15 people that “transformed the business of financial advice” and in an extensive 2019 Investment News feature dedicated to the 50thanniversary of the meeting that started the financial planning profession, Dan was featured as one of “twenty most influential men and women” in the history of financial planning.
These accolades stem from the work he has done to increase professionalism among financial planners and the respect peers show him for how he works with clients. From 1999-2001, he served on the CFP Board of Practice Standards, helping to write the standards that apply to CFP licensees in the United States. In 2007, Dan completed five years of service on the national Board of Directors of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), including serving as its President and Chairman. In 2008, he was Chairman of the Discipline and Ethics Commission of the CFP Board, hearing misconduct cases involving CFP licensees and the standards he helped establish. He served as a Trustee of the Foundation for Financial Planning from 2014-2019 and will be a member of the Board of Directors of CFP Board from 2020-2023.
His friendly style has garnered him speaking engagements to planner groups on five continents. On behalf of FPA, he has led delegations of financial planners to Russia (2008), China (2011), India (2013), and Australia (2018).

Charles E. Fitzgerald, CFP®
Charlie Fitzgerald III, is a principal and founding member of the firm. With the support of our team of experienced professionals, Charlie provides financial planning and wealth management services to high net worth individuals, corporate executives, business owners, retirees, and trustees.In 2015, Charlie began a four-year term as a Board Director for the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. The CFP Board’s mission is to benefit the public by granting the CFP® certification and upholding the CFP® mark as the recognized standard of excellence for competent and ethical personal financial planning.
Charlie recently completed a four-year term as a board director for the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. He has been a member of the Campaign Development Committee for the CFP Board’s Center for Financial Planning since 2015.
Charlie has been a CFP® professional since 1992. He graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Finance. He has over 35 years of experience in the financial services profession, including 13 years as a business and financial manager for AT&T. His advice has been featured in various local and national media outlets including newspapers, radio and television stations and national magazines.
In 2009, Charlie received the Financial Planning Association’s “Heart of Financial Planning Distinguished Service Award” for his work as a founder and leader of the FPA of Florida. During his 10 years of service to the FPA of Florida, Charlie served as president three times and chairman twice. Most notable was his work to advance the goals of the association by advocating for Florida’s citizens, financial planners and CFP® professionals to Florida’s elected officials and regulators.
Charlie has over two decades of leadership and civic involvement through his church, community and profession. He and his wife, Lisa, have been married for 32 years and have three adult children and one grandchild.
Ronald Tamayo, CFP®, EA
Ron is a principal and founding member of the firm. He specializes in retirement planning, investment management and tax reduction strategies for corporate executives and business owners. He acquired his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 1994 and has over 25 years of experience in financial planning and tax compliance.
Ron’s expertise in financial planning has been recognized by the Journal of Financial Planning, where he serves on their Editorial Review Board. He also served for two years as a member of the Journal’s Editorial Advisory Board.
Ron is past Chairman and President of the Financial Planning Association of Central Florida and served as an Executive Committee member of the Central Florida Estate Planning Council. He is also a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, the nation’s leading organization of fee-only comprehensive financial planning professionals.
Ron’s planning advice has been featured in various national and local media including Smart Money magazine, Florida Trend magazine, Morningstar, Winter Park/Maitland Observer and the Orlando Sentinel. He is also a two time recipient of the Five Star Wealth Manager Award.
Ron earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Orlando College and was an Adjunct Instructor of Financial Planning and Investments at the University of Central Florida. He is also an Enrolled Agent, the highest credential the Internal Revenue Service awards, giving him unlimited practice rights representing taxpayers before the IRS.
Derrick Chandler, CFP®
Derrick is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional who has been with the firm since 2002 and oversees our Financial Planning Department. His clients are retirees, business owners, and young professionals who are building their financial portfolios and wish to secure their cash flow, minimize taxes, develop a financial plan/retirement model and have their investments professionally managed.
Derrick’s expertise lies in the areas of designing complex financial plans and retirement models. These scenarios include tax projections, portfolio performance, cash flow analysis, long-term care needs analysis, and determining sustainable withdrawal rates for client portfolios. He also works with our business clients in the design of their 401(k) plans and monitors the allocation of the investments.
Derrick is an active member of the Central Florida chapter of Financial Planning Association where he has participated on the “Financial Planning Hotline” for several years. His planning advice has been featured often in the Orlando Sentinel’s “Ask an Expert” column.
Derrick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Central Florida, where he also completed their rigorous Financial Planning Certificate Program.
DJ Hunt, CFP®
DJ Hunt is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional who joined the firm in 2020 after relocating from Amarillo, Texas, where he was born and raised. DJ has been serving clients in various areas of financial planning, investment management and banking since 2001. For the past nine years, he was a bank Vice President and Investment Officer, managing investment portfolios totaling $400 million for working professionals, business owners, retirees and charitable foundations.
DJ’s expertise lies in the areas of investment management and retirement model development. This involves working with clients to establish a customized investment portfolio strategy to match their goals and risk tolerance, optimizing asset allocation to plan sustainable withdrawal rates, and monitoring portfolio performance.
In addition to his professional duties, DJ enjoys actively volunteering in his community and church, having served on various non-profit boards. Most recently, he was President and Chairman of the Epilepsy Foundation – TX. He also has a life-long dedication to martial arts, holding a 5th degree black belt in Taekwondo. DJ founded Top of Texas Taekwondo in 1996 and promoted close to 100 students to the rank of black belt.
DJ has been a CFP® professional since 2015. He graduated from West Texas A&M University with a BBA in Finance in 1999 and earned a Certificate in Financial Planning from Boston University in 2015. He and his wife, Tiffany, have been married for over 20 years and have two teenage children.
Pam Grabe
Pam has been with the firm since 2008. She assists Charlie Fitzgerald’s clients with a variety of account services such as new accounts, transfers, 401(k) rollovers, beneficiary changes and account title changes. Pam also coordinates with planners to process and maintain clients’ cash needs. She works closely with the other Client Service Managers and partners to assure all client needs are met. Pam graduated with honors from the University of Central Florida in 1986.
Yutanna Moore
Yutanna has been with the firm since 2007. She assists Ron Tamayo’s clients with a variety of account services such as new accounts, transfers, 401(k) rollovers, beneficiary changes and tax return preparation. Yutanna also coordinates with planners to process and maintain clients’ cash needs. She works closely with the other Client Service Managers and partners to assure all client needs are met. Yutanna graduated with honors from Marshall University in 1986.
Tracy Smith
Tracy has been with the firm since 2008 and assists our Melbourne area advisors with a variety of tasks. She assists with a variety of client account services such as new accounts, transfers, rollovers, beneficiary changes, address changes, account title changes, coordinating with estate planning attorney offices and CPA’s, and other administrative details that will ease a client’s financial life. She also works closely with the other Client Service Managers and partners to assure that all of our clients needs are met.
Clareese Chin
Clareese joined the firm in October of 2017. She assists Derrick Chandler and Mike Salmon’s clients with a variety of account services including new accounts, 401(k) rollovers, beneficiary changes, transfers, and tax return preparation. Clareese also processes and maintains clients’ cash needs. She works closely with the other Client Service Managers and partners to assure all client needs are met. Clareese graduated with honors from Rollins College in 2014.
Tommy Lucas, CFP®, EA
Tommy is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional who has been with the firm since 2015. He is also an Enrolled Agent, the highest credential the Internal Revenue Service awards, giving him unlimited practice rights representing taxpayers before the IRS. He works as a Senior Financial Analyst. He assists the Financial Planning Department with developing client financial plans and tax projections. He completes client tax returns and is also in charge of setting up client portals, creating client reports, and maintaining our client management software.
Dave Baker, APMA®
Dave works as a Portfolio Manager. He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and has been with the firm since 2014. Dave manages the daily custodian reconciliation reports to ensure all accounts contain accurate and up-to-date information. He reconciles client portfolios to confirm they are in agreement with their Investment Policy Statement. Dave works closely with the Financial Planning Department to initiate trades in client accounts as needed.
Ryan Osborne
Ryan joined the firm in 2018 and works as a Financial Analyst in our Melbourne office. He earned a bachelor’s degree in financial planning from the Western Kentucky University. While attending WKU, Ryan was an active member as well as vice president of his Financial Planning Association student chapter. He assists the Financial Planning Department with its daily tasks such as custodian reconciliation reports, setting up client portals, scenario analysis, and the review of tax documents. He is currently pursuing his CFP designation.
Paula Rocha
Paula joined the firm in 2019 after working as a summer intern. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Personal Financial Planning from the University of South Florida, where she was an active member of the Personal Financial Planning student chapter. Paula assists the Financial Planning Department with developing client financial plans and retirement models and the Tax Department with the preparation of tax returns and tax projections. Paula is currently pursuing a Certified Financial Planner designation. She is also pursuing an Enrolled Agent designation, the highest credential the Internal Revenue Service awards, to give her unlimited practice rights representing taxpayers before the IRS.
Casandra Garrett, CFP®
Casandra is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional who joined the firm in 2019 after a “return-to-work” internship. She has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, including client services, investments, and supervisory responsibilities. She assists the Financial Planning Department with developing client financial plans and retirement models and the Tax Department with the preparation of tax returns and tax projections. Casandra graduated with honors from Belhaven University in Jackson, MS in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
